A series of seminars was held during SIJS 2010 wherein eminent personalities from GJ industry spoke.
Nirupa Bhatt, MD, India & Middle East, GIA spoke about the issues confronting the Indian jewellery industry and the way it can work towards finding a solution for it.
In her seminar on ‘Design & Innovation’ , one of India’s leading jewellery designer Pallavi Dudeja Foley showcased innovative designs from her collections and outside, and inspired the current lot of designers to move beyond their set notions and think out-of-the-box taking inspirations from designs across different fields.
Pooja Kotwani, Director of Rapaport India spoke on “How to maximise diamond profits” . She threw light on the kind of role internet is playing and will play in the days to come and the way it can be utilized to explore business opportunities in the light of competition and times of slowdown.
The topic of use of technology in the various functions of jewellery manufacturing and retail was presented by Shaudhan Desai, CEO of D’ Soft Infotech Pvt. Ltd.
Ramit Kapoor, General Manager of IGI in his presentation on ‘Retail Sales Development’ shared his thoughts on the attributes of generation Y consumers, the current lot of consumers , and how jewellery marketing campaigns need to have an emotional connect in order tap these.
